Flame retardant fillers for the plastics and rubber processing industry
 
MARTINAL® special aluminium hydroxides, ground or finely precipitated, can be used as fillers and flame retardants in polymers, which are processed below 200°C. MAGNIFIN® , a high purity magnesium hydroxide, is preferred as a flame-retardant material where the processing temperatures exceed 200 ° C, e.g. for thermoplastic materials and elastomers requiring high process temperatures.

Special aluminium hydroxide (ATH) and magnesium hydroxide (MDH) products, known under the brand-name MARTINAL® and MAGNIFIN® , offer a broad range of halogen-free, non-toxic, environmentally friendly, flame retardant solutions for a wide variety of applications.


The flame retardant effect of MARTINAL® and MAGNIFIN® is based on the endothermic decomposition into aluminium oxide respectively magnesium oxide and water. Only non-toxic and non-corrosive decomposition products are formed.
